We’re looking for a System Administrator for an exciting opportunity with one of our clients. Design, configure, deploy and optimize operating systems, hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements. Must have a thorough understanding of building, designing and deploying operating systems, software and configuration tasks to end-user workstations and servers through the use of automation deployment tools. Design, document, implement and optimize solutions to ensure optimal performance and availability. Design, implement and manage Active Directory environments focusing on cross-domain functionality, GPO driven policies, and user/group management. Implement and maintain a configuration management system to assure compliance and adherence to best practices, security policies and disaster recovery requirements for all systems. Research, test and deploy application, operating system and hardware patches/updates. Coordinate updates, outages, maintenance windows, and other potential service impacting activities that could disrupt the availability of safety critical systems. Will also design, implement, allocate, and optimize SAN/NAS based storage across multiple vendor solutions to virtual and physical infrastructures. Maintain and expand the existing backup strategy and infrastructure for operational efficiency, including data staging, recovery and hardware migration. Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and programs that increase system reliability/availability and strengthen disaster recovery policies and procedures. Lead root cause analysis and provide 2nd/3rd level support for all system hardware, software, operating systems and safety critical applications. Work with infrastructure teams, application teams, and service providers to ensure solid designs and solutions to maintain secure and highly available systems.

Position requires A Bachelor’s Degree in a technology-related discipline and/or at least 4-5 years of related experience in Information Technology for critical Enterprise infrastructures. 5 – 7 years of experience in developing and implementing large scale, complex, highly available Infrastructure architecture supporting critical business applications needed. 3 years of experience with VMware vSphere (ESX) and vCenter needed. 3 years of experience with SAN and NAS Storage and Monitoring Tools required. 3 Years of experience administering Windows Server and/or Red Hat Linux also needed. Experience with working with and configuring services such as SMTP, DNS, IIS, FTP, CIFS and NFS needed. Strong leadership communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization in a professional, diplomatic and tactful manner a must. Must have a thorough understanding of and experience with computer based systems and associated networking architectures. The ideal candidate will have: experience working with large complex projects; experience with Windows and Linux based computer systems, Microsoft clusters, Windows scripting, Active Directory, database administration, Storage Area Networks (SAN), computer imaging and hardware / software troubleshooting, antivirus protection. Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and have the ability to think and work independently with minimal supervision. The candidate should possess a demonstrated ability to work closely with NOC and field personnel. Must be willing to work irregular shifts and provide on call coverage in a 24/7 environment.
