Java/Hibernate Back-end Developer Irving, Texas
Outstanding remote opportunity for a self-starting Java Developer with one of our Dallas-area clients. You will be responsible for writing high-quality Java-based components and interfaces at the heart of the client’s core platform. You will contribute to a highly collaborative team of Java/Spring and web developers building a cloud-based platform; develop, test, debug, document, and maintain the back-end models, processes, and databases that support the application; participate in development team activities to ensure consistently high levels of quality and productivity; stay up-to-date on new technologies and development techniques to improve application quality and construction efficiency; and, embrace agile principles and support iterative processes to maximize the delivery of valuable software.
Position requires 8+ years of professional experience developing commercial applications built on Java/Spring/Hibernate with 1+ years of experience using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Experience using and/or developing on a Unix/Linux platform needed. Experience with SQL and relational databases also required. Must also be familiar with java application servers such as tomcat, jetty, or glassfish, etc. and have a familiarity with build/dependency management systems such as maven, graddle, or ivy. Experience building and consuming REST services desired. Knowledge of Spark is needed. Familiarity with another programming language besides Java is a strong plus. Ideally, you are highly motivated, with enterprising instincts, and an ownership mentality; you thrive working with talented teams seeking to achieve superior results; love to learn and apply new technology; and, is comfortable working closely with business stakeholders, user experience designers, and quality assurance. You must embrace evolving requirements and specifications; believe in the value of test automation; and, enjoy solving challenging problems. Excellent communication (written and oral), negotiation, collaboration and interpersonal skills are required. BS degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related fields. Desired skills: Java, Spring, Hibernate, MVC, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, tomcat, jetty, glassfish, maven, graddle, ivy, REST, Spark. You MUST be able to pass a detailed interview that includes a written technical assessment and ID verification.
